FESTIVAL SYNOPSIS
This
year's festival was by everyone's impression a success.
We were able to achieve several goals
1) An
awareness of the art form in the Caribbean.
2) The local and regional business community to acknowledge the presence
of Animators in the region
3) A fantastic display of Caribbean-style animation.
4) International interest, as many emails came from outside the Caribbean
5) A visit to London BFM festival by the winning animators
Due to
the success of the festival we have been back to the drawing board planning
a bigger and better festival for 2003. We have established a tentative
date of May 29th to June 1st 2003. Animators are encouraged to start working
on their next short because this time the competition will be even greater
as we are assured of a more international presence. Our visit to London
BFM Film festival was an eye-opener. We were embraced by the audience
and festival organizers. I get the feeling that they were not expecting
that level of animations coming out of the Caribbean. This was a great
motivator for us all because we can only get better. Peace and keep in
touch because the journey only just begun.
